Wedding at Nelson. At the Cathedral, Nelson, on January 22, by the Rev. W. ,S. Lucas, Hiss Mny Hani]>;on, second daughter of Jlr. and ilrs. W. S. Haiup?on. of Nelson, was married to J>r. D. E. Hansen, of Auckland. Tho bride, who was given away by her iitthor, was attired in an Empire Kuwn of white duchesse satin, embroidered with pearls, and wore a veil of embroidered net, and wreath of orange blossoms. Her shower bouquet was composed of white roves and fern. . Miss Lily Hampson, sister of the bride, who attended as bridesmaid, was frocked in pale mauve crystalline, piped with violet velvet, and a large hat of straw, wreathed w'th lilac. '■ Mr. Martin Hamps in officiated as best man. During the afternso.i, Dr. and Mrs. Hansen left on their honeymoon trip, the bride travelling in a omart navy blue tailor-made, with a hnt en suite. Thomas's Church, Newtown, on January 22, Miss Gertrude Haslom, eldest daughter of the late Mr. W. H. Haslom, of Livorpool, was married to Mr. W. Quayle, son of tlio late Mr. John Quayle, of Cnstletown, Isle of Man. The bride wore a frock of white liberty silk, and guipure embroidery, and was attended by two bridesmaids, the Misses Parkins and Bennett. The Rev. W. Fancourt performed the ceremony. Mr. 11. W. Jones acted as best man, and Mr. Benham as groomsman. Mr. and Mrs. W. Qnnylo left during the afternoon for Manakau, their future home. B. Scandrctt. The wedding of Miss Svmes to Mr. M. IT. Godley will takp place in St. Michael's Church, Christchurch, on February 7. The Rev. A. H. Colville and Mrs. Colville, who arrived by the Tainui from England, left yesterday for New Plymouth, at which place the Rev. Colville has been appointed vicar of St. Mary's Church. The engagement was recently announced of Miss Phyllis Lusk, daughter of Mr. 11. Lusk, of Napier, to Dr. A. Singer, of Coventry, England.

An Afternoon Tea. On Tuesday afternoon a most enjoyable lea was Riven by Mrs. Jones at St. .lames Parsonage, Lower Hutt, the guest of honour being Jliw Mora Johnston, who leaves early next month on a visit, to relatives in India. Mrs. Morris-Fox gave a very pleasant afternoon tea ut the Hotel Windsor yesterday as a farewell for Mrs. Borghctti, who leaves by the Ulimaroa to-day, to join Dr. Borghctti in Sydney, where he has recently taken up practice. The teatables were charmingly decorated with yellow daisies and shaded grass, and Vitetta's string band played brightly during the afternoon. The received in a becoming gown of tussore silk, piped with black, and a hat to match, and Mrs. I3orgb.et.ti was attired in grey silk eolienne, trimmed with cream lace and touches of pale blue, and a large white hat.
