A f=a,lo of Waitangi shares was made on the Stock Kxrhnuge 10-day at 2s. 9d. WATCHMAN GOLDmNIXG COMPANY. During the past week the Xo. 1 rise has been advanced a further distance of 6 feet, making a total of 27 feet from the floor of the drive. Owing to the reef being divided with a rib of sandstone, and being dcsirable t to keep both # hanging and footwall portions in hand, it will be necessary to corohnnc the ri*c, as mentioned in my last week c; report. The quaj"te comiitg to baud is of a. kindly, friable nature, with zinc blend and sulphides iut-crinixcd, and occa» sionaliy show? gold in the stone. Parallel Reef: Two shifts have been engaged driving this facc, and 11 feet having been added to the dfetance, makes a total of 67 feet to date. At tlifs point there are signs of the two ril>3 of ouartc coining together again, as the sandstone is making smaller, and the hanging wall portiou hfis heaved considerably to the left. I am of the opinion a few more sluftfi will see one body of Quartz. The ore broken from both ribs, continues to show gold m the stone, and has been saved for treatment. Xorth-west Crosscut: One shift has been engaged advancing this facc, and 7 feet has been added to the distance, making a total or 19 feet to date. There is no change to report to that of last week's report. »South-ea.=t Crosscut: Two men have ad* vancod this facc 6 fcofc through a face of all ouartz mensurln# about 7 feet, and although no gold has bccii sceu, the stone iV.fi a ,un( My appearance.—(Signed) H.
