One of Ihe leaders of Hie dairy industry, when asked by n representative of the "Dairyman" what he thought was most urgently required 10-day in connection witii Hie <lairy industry.'said he thought it was the prevention of fraudulent sales ot dairy covs. By this he meant that the common practice of dealers buying up a lot of culls and wasters, and advertising them through some firm of auctioneers as a dairy herd for dispersal. This, says the "Dairyman," is a very common practice throughout the Xorth Island espcciallv and what is wanted to prevent it in Suture is a short drastic Act of Parlianient making such a conspiracy as that indicated punishable by a term of, say. two years' imprisonment. The auctioneer' I lie dealer, and Hie. vendor to be all treated alike. This would lie an effectual remedv.
