HAST MELBOURNE TRAGEDY.
HOLT COMMITTED FOB TRIAL. Bj'ieleirrath—Press Association—OopyrlKhl (Ree. January 25, 10.30 p.m.) Melbourne, January 25. Holt has been committed for trial for the manslaughter of Tullidge on January 15. The prisoner mado a statement to the effect that Tullidge threatened violence. Ho carried a revolver in selfdefcnce, and liad not intended to shoot, but only to frighten the doceofcd. Tullidge had reccntlv obtained a divorce from his wife, Tlolt being the coresnqndcnl. Holt and .Airs. Tulfidgo were walking along a street in East Melbourne when Tuliiclgo accosted thorn. A struggle between the two men ensued, ami iwo .=hots were fired, Tullidgo being shot dead.
