Sir Joseph Ward is at Rotorua and is expected to return to Wellington towards the end of next week. The Hon. J. A. Millar is at Taupo. He is expected to return next week to Wellington. The Hon. M. Buddo is nt Auckland, tlio Hon. T. Mackenzie at Dunetlin, and the Hon. A. T. Njjata at Port Awanni. Sir Jas. Carroll and the Hon. E. M'Kenzie are in Wellington. Mr. Vickermann, superintending engineer to the Public Works Department, returned to Wellington last evening, after spending a few days in the South Island. Information has been received that the most licv. Dr. Kelly, Soman Catholio Archbishop of Sydney, accompanied by the Eight Eev. Dr. Dwyer, Bishop of Maitlnnil, and the Very ifev. Mr. Richard l'ybus, of London, who has been touring the North Island, leaves for Bueiios Ayres by the Arawa to-day. Mr. Charles Sfoddart, of London, who arrived by the Arawa, and Mr. B.' Nicholson, a passenger by the Tainui, are two English sportsmen who have visited New Zealand before. They intend to fish the water of Lake Taupo and Hotorua for some little time to come. As was reportcd_ in The Dominion yesterday,* Mi'. l'\ Waldegrave, Under-Secre-tary for Justice, intends to retire shortly. Mr. Waldegrave lias not yet formed any delinito plans as to what he will do on his return to New Zealand. The members of Hip Wellington Football Club liave made a presentation to Mr. A. B. Wilson, one of the cluli's oldest members, who is leaving to-day for Sydney by the IJlimaroa. Tn making the presentation Mr. Geo. Gaelic, a vice-pre-sident of the club, said that they were losing one who had rendered excellent service io the club both on anil off the field. The club regretted that Mr, Wilson was leaving Wellington, but were pleased that (he journey meant promotion mid a step up (lie ladder of life. Mr. Wilson made a suitable reply. The Hon. William Pitt, of Melbourne, will leave for Sydney to-day by the Ulimaroa. Captain John I'earcc, brother of Mr. Arthur Pearce, of Levin and Co., who has been connected with (he mercantile marine for about sixteen years, is a visitor to Wellington. He leaves for Auckland en route to Loir.l m to-day. A cablo message from Sydney stales that Sir Robert Lucas Tooth, chairman of directors of the Bank of New South Wales, on behalf of his co-directors and tho staff of tho lank, presented Mr. David George with a grandfather's clock oil Hie occasion of his jubilee in the bank's service. The Rev. Br. Gibb, of St. John's Church, Wellington, returned from the Sounds by the Pateena last night. Messrs. H. G. Ell, T. H. Davey, and ,'L. If. ]sitt, M.P.'s, have been appointed members 'Of the Christchurch Domain Board. Messrs. E. K. M'Killop, W. E. Carter, and W. L. Borrows have been appointed cadets in the Public Works Department. The North British and Mercantile Insurance Company, having decided to open a Far Kastern branch, have appointed Mr. E. ]■!. Parsons, late of the New - Zealand Insurance Company, as manager, with headquarters at Shanghai. Mr. Parsons,, who is a native of Auckland, has been with the New Zealand Insurance Company for twenty years, having served for eight years at the head office, and for twelve years as assistant mai'.aacr and manager at Shanghai. Mr. V. G. Masscy, who is the son of Mr. W. V. Masscy, the Leader of the Political IJeform party, made his first appearance as solicitor in charge of a case in the Magistrate's Court, Auckland, before Mr. C. C. Kettle, S.M., on Tuesday. Mr. Arthur Partly, who has been connected with the local stall of Messrs. Bing, Harris and (Jo. for the past fifteen years, leaves for Sydney to-day, and will probably go into business in Australia. Mr. Tom Pollard, of Greymouth, who has been on a visit to Wellington, left for the West Coast yesterday. Mr. John Fuller, senr., of Auckland, is a visitor to Wellington. The Kev. Bawden Harris, who is resigning from the charge of the Alieelown Congregationll Church, ivas tendered a farewell social by his congregation last night. The licv. Mr. Aepland occupied the chair, and speeches of a very congiatulatory nature of Mr. Harris's work were made by the chairman, the Rev. Mr. Glassoil, the Kov. J. M'Caw, and the Bcv. Mr. Ginger.
