The cricketers' letter contends that tho players are legally entitled to select their own manager.- If this is not allowed, it will be a breach of faith. The players raise no objection to tho Board of Control appointing a representative to watch its interests, but all his expenses should be paid by the board and not made chargeable and against takings of tho tour. The writers are anxious to go to England, but respectfully and firmly decline to go except under their own manager. Melbourne, January 23. A number of other plnyers have desired to sign ,the protest to the Board of Control. Any whoso selection is considered anyway doubtful will not bo allowed to sign. ' • TRUMPERY INJURY. Melbourne, January 23. Trumper's injury in tho Adelaide Test match is causing more trouble than was anticipated. The doctor has opened a large lump which formed on the shin. Ho is hopeful that Triunper will be able to play in the fourth Test. RANJITSINHJI AND CRICKET. London, January 22. The London "Express" states that Itanjitsinhji is coming to England for cricket, and is desirous of playing in the Tests.
