ELECTRIC LIGHT.
(1381 CONNECTIONS IN A YEAU. The following report was submitted to' the Power Stations and Tramways Committee held yesterday afternoon:— "The revenue of the Kleclric Lighting Department for the month of December, 1911, shows an increase of X' 353, and the working expenses an increase of JSi'J, as compared with the corresponding month of last year. A gain of 'YM consumers was made during the month, making a total of (j3Bl connections, an increase of 12U1 cunnedions during the last twelve months. "Comparing the revenue and expenditure for the nine months ended December .'ll, lilll, with that of the previous year, the revenue has increased by J."USI2, unci the working expenses by ,1327.. After allowing for estimated capital charges, there is a credit balance to date of JE82211, as against .G592!) last year, a net increase of .£22'.11. From this balance appropriations covering part cost of the removal and re-creclion of boilers in the lighting station amounting to £KU will be made, leaving a net credit to revenue account of JIG 33!) at this date."
