At one limp the deceased was engaged in trade between Melbourne and Wellington. Mr. 11. A. Cornes, of Parnell, has been appointed junior assistant-master at the Oisborne High School. Mr. Colin M. Litllejohn, D.A., of Milton, has been appointed iiiot assistant-master at the same school. Messrs. L. Dahmeii (of Paris), F. 11. Crabtree (of Montana, I'.S.A.), Jl. A. Slotkowski (of Sydney), and J. T. Thompson (of Melbourne), arrived in Auckland by the Victoria from Sydney on Sunday. Mr. Frederick 'William Kobcrtson, a very old resident of liongotea, died there on Sunday, at the great age of 91 years. Ho arrived'in the district 3G years ago, and was greatly esteemed by everybody who knew him.
