PROFESSOR GILEUTH'S OPINION. Bcl'oro leaving Dunedin. last week 011 his return journey to Melbourne, Professor Gilruth, in tho nonrsi ot conversation with an "Otago Daily Times" reporter on the subject of tho Veterinary College at Melbourne, of which ho is principal, said that it was being attended by students from all parts of Australia and New Zealand, thus demonstrating that the value of the institution was very much recognised by people interested in veterinary work. The buildiugs, which were erected at n cost of on four acres of land, a gift of the City Council, extended to three of the four streets by which the site was sill-rounded. The institution was only ten minutes' walk from the Chief Post Oflicc, and lie believed that it would eventually become .second to none ill importance. The Professor stated that he had conducted aji inquiry and submitted a report oil the diseases in sheep. He had great hopes for the future progress of ilie college. Referring to the Neiv Zealand Veterinary Department., Profcwor Gilruth said he was pleased to notice that it was tarrying on good work, which must result in a lasting benefit to farmers,
