A majority of the ruling chiefs in Northern India have applied to the Government for sites for .houses at Delhi. The agitation against the transfer of the capital is being revived in Calcutta. The Bengal Chamber of Commerce is drafting a protest, and Englishmen are strenuously opposed to the change, on the ground of the expense entailed and the ignoring of public feeling.
