ATTRACTIONS FOR THE HOLIDAY.
Monday next is. tho soventy-socond anniversary of tho founding of tho city of Wellington, ami a public holiday. Tho public will havo no reason to complain of lack of attractions. Tho Wellington. Racing Club will hold tho second day of tho Summer meeting at Trentham. Yachtsmen and thoso who find pleasuro on tho waters of tho harbour will bo interested in the Anniversary Rogatta. to bo held under tho auspices" of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club. For tennis enthusiasts thero will be the continuation from to-day of tho Wellington Provincial Championships at Day's Bay, whero also tho picnickers will congregate in their crowds. The bowling greens will bo available throughout tho day for members of clubs, and dt tho Kelburno green a progressive tournament will be hold. Athletic and swimming sports will bo held at Worser Bay, under tho management of the Seatoun Amateur Athletic Club. . . _ The Maori will make, an excursion to Pictbn, commencing at 8 a.m., and arriving back in Wellington between 6 p.m. and. 7 p.m. Cricket, enthusiasts will be catered for in the annual match between the Victoria and Canterbury Colleges, to be ployed on the Wellington College ground. The usual holiday train and ferry services will be maintained throughout the day. In tho afternoon and evening, Brennnn's Vaudeville Company will appear at the Opera House, and pictures will bo shown at tho King's Theatro, .
