SHIPS' OFFICERS' PAY.

Nothing mine of the conference except that U;e iuinpany ottered the officers certain levins declaring at the same timo that their offer was final. An opein vote of members of the guild, who were affected, was suikjii l> •' post, but the result ot that vote was never declared. It is understood, however, that the decision of the majority was against the acceptance of the oiler. So the matter has stood for throe months. Now it is proposed that the question at issue ; bo settled, and to that end tho company have suggested a conference to consider one of the salient features of the terms . offered, which, it is understood, is the main difficulty so far as the officers are , concerned. <
