TRADE AGREEMENT.
CANADA AND AUSTRALIA. By Teleerapi.—Preas Assodation-Oonyrieht Ottawa, January 16. According to returns furnished to Parliament Canada is desirous of arriving at a trade agreement with Australia as soon as possible. The correspondence between the two Governments shows that the .Minister for Trade and Commerce agreed to grant Australia a substantial preference in return for preference for Canadian articles of export, also free entrance for articles of Canadian natural products. The offer also included proposals for improved steamship communication.
