Ottawa correspondence tabled in the House of Commons indicates that a preferential arrangement, with Canada and Australia is within measurable distance of accomplishment. STATEMENT BY MR. FISHER. (Rec. January 17, 0.48 a.m.) Melbourne, January 16. Referring to the cablegram regarding reciprocity with Canada, Mr. Fisher declared that he was unable to. indicate how far negotiations had proceeded. They had not passed the stage of inquiry.
