Mr. King, Resident Commissioner at Vila, New Hebrides, has cabled the Navigation Department that' tho steamer Tathra foundered at-sea, and that 21 lives were lost, including Chief Engineer liussell, Chief Steward Wilcox, and a passenger named Ixer, from_ Melbourne. SURVIVORS RESCUED. (Rec. January 15, midnight.) Sydney, January IS. / Messrs. Burns, Philp' and Co. havo received a message stating that the steamer Malaita picked up a lifeboat and thirtyeight survivors of the Tathra, including tie master and officers.
