COMMITTEE MEETING.' The monthly meeting of tho General Committee of the Masterton A. and P Association was held on Saturday afternoon last, thero being present: "Messrs. H. Morrison (president), R. J. Dagg, H Dagg, E. C. Perry, W. ][. Buick, D. Foreman, G . Shaw, J. James, W. Cooper, V - -~V , V lll , nuee ' E " Gra J'. W. Perry, W J. Welch E. C Harper, H. A. Matthews, It. E. Allen, D. M'Gregor, jun., and O. O. Cooper, Mr. Joseph Dixon wroto asking the exclusive right of tho privilege lor the sale ot non-alcoholic drinks at the show and ram fair.—lt was decided that the privileges bo sold by auction, the purchaser to have tho right of conducting as many booths as he might think fit. Mr. 1. P. Lett tendered his resignation as a member of tho committee.—lt was decided that, in view of Mr. Lett's previous long services to the association, his resignation bo not accepted, but that he bo given leavo of absence. «. M i. r \. ]?rank Jlooro > of Kai Iwi > advised that he was sending a rose bowl lor tho .points prize in fat cattle at the coraiii" show. He stated that he would bo sending only a few fat cattle to the show ■himself this year.-It was decided to thank Mr. Moore for his generous gift, and to express tho hope that he would show as in tho past. A letter was read from Mr. W. B. Allen, of Clareville, stating that ho would give another stud ram for sale as directed by tho committee, the proceeds to bo donated to the funds of tho association.A voto of thanks was passed to Mr. Allen for his donation. . Messrs. Freeman R. Jackson and Co., of Wanganui, wrote expressing regret that their ram fair dates clashed .with those of Masterton. They pointed out, however, that their dates corresponded with those of last year, and had been .fixed contingent with tho Wainiarino and To Kuiti shows.—The communication was received. A letter was read from Mr. W. 10. Bidwill, enclosing a donation of £2 25., and mentioning that the Lower Valley had not yet been canvassed for special prizes—lt was decided that a committee, consisting of Messrs. Matthews, Q. Donald, and M'Mastor, bo appointed to canvass the Lower Valley. Tho report of tho special meeting of tho Ground, Luncheon, and Produce Committees, at which seating and other matters were arranged, was read.—lt was decided to erect fifty dog-kennels, and to effect certain improvements in tho produce hall. The report was adopted. Tho treasurer reported a debit balance at dato of .£1833 Its. 2d. Mr. Hugh Campbell has purchased four sections, comprising 156 acres, of tho unsold portion of the "Pakowhai" Estate, near Hastings. Other purchasers are negotiating for sections, aud.it is expected by the auctioneers, Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., and Mr. J. R. Lanauze, that the balance will be disposed of in a few days. A great number of cheese factories have installed the "Victor Cheese Vat," which has many advantages over tho old style flat-bottomed one.
