GERM ELECTIONS.
HEAVY POLLING. SOCIALISTS REGAINING LOST GROUNDHOW THE PARTIES STAND. by TelcEraph-PrcEs Association-Copyright Berlin, January 12. The 'polling in connection with the Gorman elections lias commenced. (Rcc. January 11, :>Si p.m.) Berlin, January 13. The polling is heavy. The Socialists have held live seats in Berlin, and expect that at tho second ballot they will wrest a sixth from tho Radicals. ■ Herr Bebel (Leader of the Socialists), Uorr Ledebour, Herr Zudeal, Ilcrr David Vollmar, and Dr. I'rank have been triumphantly re-electod. Herr Bersnin has wrested Brcslau West from the Radicals. The latter have also lost Stettin town, Koenigsberg town, Zittan, and Biemen to the Socialists. Other Socialists' victories, havo been ™ at Magdeburg, Randow% Holzlinden, and tho first division of Brunswick. The Contra havo lost Rieohcnbaeh and Neerodo to the Socialists. The National Liberals hare lost Kirchberg, Dobcln, Aundberg, divisions of Saxony, Isslangen, Darmstadt West, and Havelland to the Socialists. The Socialists have already regained onethird of tho losses of 1907. Altogether they have secured nineteen gains and suffered two losses. All three scats in Hamburg have been retained. The following are the total number of members of tho different parties so far definitely elected:— Centra party 49 Socialists 45 Conservatives 9 J-'oles .'.".' 8 Imperial party 2 National Liberal 1
