EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A. meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council was held on Saturday evening, there being present the Mayor, Councillors Button, Hareourt, Horns, Organ, l'ileher. Moss, and Wills. • Tlio Town Clerk was directed to have notices erected warning the public against lighting fires or taking plants from the new-public park. The Town Clerk submitted a report upon the sanitation services of the borough, in which he advised a revision of the present arrangements with a view to the adoption of certain recommendations made by him. After a short discussion it was resolved (a hold a spcoial meeting of the council next' Friday evening to consider the report. ' The dog-tax for the year 1912 was fixed at as., as was the case last year. Complaint was as to the deposit of rubbish on a vacant site adjoining a frequented thoroughfare. The Town Clerk was directed to write (ho owner of the site asking that steps be taken to abate the nuisance.
