TRAMWAY WORKERS.

THE DUNEDIN AGREEMENT. The following aro the principal clauses in the agreement arrived at by the J)miodiu City Council and its tramway employees :— Wages.—The following; shall be (ho minimum ride of wages:—Motormen: Under one year's service, !s. Motornicn and conductors manning specials after 12 midnight to bo paid at double time ratos, and to b3 allowed Is. extra in lieu of a meal. The rates of pay for ordinary time of all tramway employees not including "G" tables) shall average by tho operating award in regard to their respective trades or employments. Hours of Work.—Tho following shall be tho hours of work on the six week days:—<a) Tho hours of work for motormen and conductors on regular shifts excluding "G' tables) shall average eight hours per day, and the employer shall have the right to call upon any omployeo to work nine hours, paying for the time so worked at ordinary rates. Men not to bo signed off for less than ono hour, (b) Sundays: Motormen and conductors to bo paid double time rates for all time, worked before 1 p.m.onSundavs, and at timo and a half rates for all time worked attcr 1 p.m. on Sundays. All men called to report for duty on Sundays to be booked up for not less than two hours. Forty-four regular shifts to get every alternate Sunday off. W Motormen and conductors shall be paid whilst waiting at sports, races, and other public amusements, unless signed oh at depot, and they shall not be signed oft tor less than one hour.
