Wedding at Feilding. On December 27, at "Hokianga," Carnarvon, the residence of tho bride's father, Miss Jessie Elizabeth M'Kenzie, youngest daughter of Mr. R. U. M'Kenzie, was married to Mr. Malcolm M'Ewen, son of Mr. H. M'Ewen, Bunnythorpo. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. A. M'Kenzie. Tho future homo of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm M'Ewen is at Cheltenham, where Mr. M'Ewen resumes his duties of headmaster of the local school, at the end of tho month; • . West Coast Wedding. . At the Sacred Heart Church, Reefton, on Thursday, January 11, Miss Cecilia Patienco Gallagher, second daughter of tho late John Gallagher, of Cronadun, was married to Herbert Wallace, youngest son of Mr. W. W. Todd, of ■Northland, Wellington. The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. M. O'Maltey," was attired in ivory satin choriueuso, draped with ninon and embroidered in silver. She wore the usual veil and orange blossoms, and carried a sheaf bouquet of white lilies. Miss Doyle,'of Blenheim, wore, as bridesmaid, a gown of apricot eolienne, trimmed with Oriental embroidery, ami a black picture hat. The second bridesmaid, Miss M. Gallagher, sister of the bride, was frockod in pale blue satin channelise, veiled with ninon, and wore a black plumed hat. Both bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink carnations tied with streamers of black ribbon. Dean Binsfield was the officiating minister, and Messrs. S. Ewart and J. Gallagher, brother of the bride, attended as best, man and groomsman. The bridegroom's present to the brido was a diamond ring, nnd to the .bridesmaids a gold bamrie and ring. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a gold cameo ring. Dr. and Mrs. Guineas, of Devonport, Auckland, sailed by the Ruahino on Thursday last for a six months' trip to England. .Mr. and Mrs. Fielding, of Fcathcrston. aro leaving early next month for London, via Sydney. They intend going Homo by tho Suez Canal route. Mrs. W. F. H-mdyside arrived last week from Invercargill. Mr., Mrs., and Miss Beddms, of Lou-' don, are at present touring the Dominion, and have been visiting Rotorua. Miss,Simpson and Miss Miles returned on Friday from their coaching Irir through tho Buller Gorge. Mr. and Mrs. A. Allan, accompanied by Miss Allan, are leaving shortly for a tour of England and the Continent. Dr. and Mrs. Fitchett, who returned from Auckland on Saturday, have gone over to Day's Boy for a brief visit. The Misses Mattie and Ruth Putnam aro visiting Napier and Gisbornc. Mrs. Hoade)' the well-known Christchurch soprano, is paying a brief visit to Wellington, she came over to attend the John' M'Coriuack concert. The death occurred at Milton on Wednesday of Mrs. William Wyber, at the ago of 71 years. The deceased lady had (says tho "Bruce Herald") been resident in the Milton district, for a period of half a century. She was a native of Ayrshire (Scotland), nnd arrived in N«w Zealand by the ,I'ladda on that vessel's ' second voyage in IS6I.
