Messrs. Dalgcty and Co. report:—At our Pabncrston sale yesterday a good entry of stock met with total clearance at good prices, as follow:—Weaner bulls, to £2; small- yearling steers, £2 6s. lo £3; eight-een-months to two-year steers, £4 9s. 6d.; small do., heifers. £2 165.; yearling to lif-tcen-mouths heifers. £3 10s., £3 12s. 6d„ to £4 25.; empty heifers, £3 155.; bulls, to £3 lis.; light fat cows, £i 13s. to £5 175.; empty cows, to £4 135.; springing heifers, £5 6s. to £5 12s. 6d.: three and four-year Polled Angus bullocks, £7 55.; one. forward bullock, to £8 6s.

There was a good inquiry for sheep, hut high reserves hampered business to some extent, and 750 of those yarded went out unsold. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Palmerston North branch) report:—During the w*ek we have held tales at Kangiotu, Kaumai, Palmerston North, and a clearing sale oil account Mr. A. Bichavds at Kelvin Grove. At Rangiotu we had a good entry of cattle, with a fair attendanc-e of buyers, resulting in a brisk sale, very little being turned out unsold. At Itaumai small entries came forward, hut everything was quitted with tho exception of one pen. At Palmerston, on Thin-day, wo had u heavy entry of cattle. There was a lceen demand, and a good sale resulted, practically every liue being bold at price? in favour of the vendors. At Mr. A. Richards's sale there was a good attendance, and good prices were realised.
