ANOTHER TASMANIAN SHIPMENT. Despite the fact lliat several carcasses of pork in the recent trial shipment from Tasmania to London were condemned for tuberculosis, the Department of Agriculture in (he Island State is arranging for another shipment about the end of tin? month. This is the result of Ihe receipt' of an offer from a London firm to advance up to 3d. per lb. f.o.b. Jlnbarl. The tv'pe of pigs desired is from UOlb. to SOlb. deadweight; carcass of good length, and meaty rather than fat; in other words, pigs with tho lean meat well distributed.
FEILDING SHOW. A perusal of the prize-list for tho Feildiiiß A. and I'. Show, to bo held on February li and 7, indicate that sheep and lambs have been very well doled, no lewev than eleven, points prizes being offered lor competition. There is a shield value 30 guineas (which also carries a gold medal), a cup value 20 juir.e-is, and three ton-e,uinoa cups, one ton of manure, and wen cases of sheep dip. These, with the large amount of prize-money allotted, are expected to induce very keen competition, especially as the season has been so favourable to pastoralists. Entries close on Friday, January ID. Tho secretary will forward a prize-list on application.
