REPORT FOR THE YEAR. , 8y Teleirrach—Press Association—Copyricto* Sydney, January 8. The report of the Bureau of Microbiology states that the research work for the year was directed to determining the part insects played in disseminating disease amongst humans and stock.
A rat was discovered . suffering from leprosy similar to the disease' which affected humans. The bureau is unable yet to definitely pronounce with regard to the identity of the diseases in the two classes. Farther experiments with rabbit virus do not suggest a practical application in destroying rabbits in the field., Investigations proved that persons known as typhoid germ-carriers should, when detected, bo treated to make them safe.
