DARING ROBBERY.

MAILS RIFLED. CLERKS GAGGED AND BOUND. By Telecraph—Press Assoeiatlon-OorTTlcht New York, January 5. At Redding, California, two men, not; wearing masks, robbed a north-bound Oregon express on the Southern Pacific Company's railway. They forced an entrance to the mail van near Red Bluff, and bound and gagged three mail clerks. They then leisurely rifted (he sacks of mails and escaped with a largo quantity of booty. The mail clerks were found buried beneath the torn sacks. (Rec. January 7, 5.5 p.m.) New York, January G. The Sheriff's posses are scouring tho country in connection with the Oregon express robbery. It trauspires that there was only one robber. A reward of 400 dollars is offered for his capture.
