South Wales, Supreme Court Bench, died on board the steamer Frederick, der Grosse. The deceased was returning from an extended holiday in Europe. .-'.-,' Tho Hon. H. E. Cohen was appointed to the Now South Wales Supreme Court Bench, and was first President o"f the Arbitration, Court (1902-5). .He was previously in. politics, 'and represented West Maitland in tho Legislative Assembly in 1875-80, and 1883-5; was Colonial Treasurer in.the Fftrrell Ministry (1877-8); and Minister for Justice in the Stuart Government from 1883 till 1885, when he retired from politics, declining nomination to tho Legislative Council. Ho was President of the Great, Synagogue, Sydney, in 1884-6, and Chairman of the Hoard of Management of the, Hospital Saturday Fund since 1891. '
