YOUNG MAN'S TRAGIC DEATH.
* THROWS HIMSELF l-'ROJI AX VV•<V.\\U WINDOW. A young man named Thomas Peddie, a farmer, of I'eilding, met with a tragic death on Saturday night. On Friday night lie arrived in an excilcd state ni the residence of Airs. Curtis, in Molesworth Street. He was evidently suffering from brain trouble, and was at once put to bed. Dr. Ewarl was sent for and a telegram dispatched to .Mrs. I'cddio, the .young man's mother. When Mrs. Prddie arrived on Saturday night tho condition of her son seemed to havn improved. At her request the man who had been looking after him left the room for n while us she thought (lie patient would go to sleep more readily it she wcro left alone wilh him. A few minutes afterwards tho household heard an anxious call from Mrs. Peddie, but before anything could be done tho patient, sprang from his bed, dashed upstairs, opened the front window and throw himself on to the pavement below, When picked up it was seen thai he was terribly injured, death being almost instantaneous. Dr. Newman was passing at the time and gave all the help ho could, and other doctors arrived very soon afterwards. Decoasedj who was about 31 years old, had received a sunstroke some years ago, mid suffered at times from severe pains in tho head. An inquest will be held today.
