AFFAIR AT QUEEN'S THEATRE.
» DYNAMO TAMPERED WITH. (By Tclcgraph-I'rcss Association.) Auckland, January o'. An attempt was made yesterday to destroy the electrical plant at the Queen's Theatre. The theatre, as usual, had been darkened while the programme was screened, but a start had hardly been made when it was noticed that the current was short-circuited. The machinery was immediately stopped, the. manager explaining to the house that it would he necessary to make an examination of the pin lit before proceeding. The invosligntion revealed thai a piece ol iron wire had been twisted round one of the brushes of the. dynamos, and pushed into the machine in such a manner'as to cause, -erious damage.
