Mr. C. D.'Lanclvu, the Chinese Consul for New Zealand, has returned from a trip to Auckland. A Press Assocation cable message, from Rvdncy received .on Saturday morning states' that Mr. M. J- Redgrave, of the Auckland Lands and Survey Office, who is retiring from the Department on superannuation, was presented on Thursday last by his fellow officers with a marble clock as a parting Rift. Sltcet, Commissioner of Crown Lands, who made tho presentation, referred to Mr. Uwlgravo's long service, extending over 37 years, and wished him many years to come of health and enjoyment in the leisure so well earned by his long, honourable, and useful public career.
