The horse took fright, and capsized, the trap ..over a bank. The eldest girl sustained concussion of the bfain, and tho next eldest cuts arid contusions.. The two youngest were unhurt. .
INQUESTS ON THE DROWNED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, January 5. An inquiry was held this morning into tho circumstances of Iho death of Jas. Dawson, who was found dead in a pond in the Domain yesterday. / The jury returned an open verdict" in accordance with tho evidence that the cause of death was drowning, and that there was no evidence to show by what means the body got into 1 the water. An inouest was held this morning into the death of William Brown, tho Opawa seaman, who fell from .the wharf a week ago, and whoso body was found floating, near the Calliope Dock. .A verdict of death by drowning was returned, there being no evidence lo show how the body got into tho water.
