) The unseasonable weather experienced lately has interfered greatly with haymaking. Flaxmills in this district were unablo to resume stripping at the appointed time owing to tho wet condition of the local swamps. A public meeting is to be hold next Wednesday night, when arrangements will be mado £or taking advantage of tho Coronation gift of tho old post office to tho townspeople. Tho local Druids aie preparing for their athletic sports, which aro to be held on tho Recreation Ground on Monday, January 23. The following aro the officials:—Judges, Dr. Adams, Bros. J. W. Cootes, T. H. Farghor, and W. H. Gunning; handicapper, Mr. Ulic Shannon; starter, Bro. E. J. King; timekeeper, Bro. W. G. Yickers; clerk of course, Bro. J. W. Batchelw; referee, Mr. G. Seifert. A dance will bo held in tho evening.
