AX UXSATISFACTOUY POSITION. Latest reports from Hamilton indicate that tho unseasonable weather—cold, cutting showers following lino days—is now having a most detrimental effect on farming operations. liny-making is reported to bo almost at a standstill, ami it. is staled that unless many of tho crops are turned to ensilage they will bo entirely lost. Grain crops sire' als-j in many instances ready for harvesting, and unless tho weather improves I hero is every prospect ill' their being mined. Although the season has been a bad win for harvestim? operations,, dairy farmers have no cau/e to complain, and as indicated in this column last week, dairymen's cheques are increasing.
