Perkins, who is a hunter by trade, left home in the afternoon, and on returning.heard two rapid reports. He ran into the house, and found his wife lying on a couch dead, with a four months infant crying on her breast. Sis stepbrother was lying on the.floor, also dead. Distracted with grief, Perkins ran out shouting "My poor wife is dead." A theory, which is difficult to justify, is that the boy was playing with the gun and accidentally (hot the woman.
