PRIME MINISTER GOES SOUTH
GOVERNOR'S RETURN,
Sir Joseph Ward left for the south! last evening without having mado thp announcement, for which the country is waiting, regarding the line of action ho intends to adopt- in the immediate future. No further information was obtainable from the Prime Minister's oflico yesterday than that Sir Joseph Ward's stay in the south is unlikely to be a long one.
Mr.' Massey, who has been spending a few days quietly in Wellington, intends to leave for Auckland by to-day's express. Tho Leader of the Opposition is in excellent health and spirits, and appears to bo as little affected by the present political tension as any man in New Zealand.
His Excellency tho Governor is duo to arrive in Wellington to-day, so that ha will cross Sir Joseph Ward on the journey between Lyttelton and Wellington.
