At the Oiley races a horse struck a tree and rolled under u fence amongst the spectators. The rider of the horse and two spectators had each a leg broken, and two others were also injured. NEW ZEALAND JOCKEY KILLED. (Rec. December 27, 9.35 p.m.) Perth, December 27. The Now Zealand jockey Percival was injured at tho West Australian Turf Club's meeting through his mount falling in the hurdle race. He succumbed to his injuries in tho hospital. BOAT CAPSIZES. (Rec. December 27, 9.35 p.m.) Adelaide, December 2". Through a boat capsizing on Lake Torrens a man named Busch and Miss Irish wero drowned. CLERGYMAN KILLED BY AN EXPLOSION. (Bee. December 27, 9.35 p.m.) London, December 27. The explosion of a carbide cylinder killed tho Eev. Stephens Decourcy while he was arranging a limelight apparatus at a children's entertaimnsnt at Brinscombe. (By Telegraph-Press Association.) Auckland, December 27. Mr. John Rao received a cable message i[°na Western Australia stating that Albert Percival was killcu while riding in a raco there. The deceased jockey did a lot of riding in Auckland some lew vears ago. leaving for Wetscrn Australia with Mr. Rae when that trainer left Auckland with a number of horses owned by sportsmen of that State.
