COTTON TRADE CRISIS.
300,000 WORKERS AFPiCTED. (By Teleeraph-Prcsj Association.) (Rec. December 27, 9.35 p.m.) London, December 27. It is calculated that if, as is generally expected, the spinning mills iu Southeast Lancashire close owing to to-day's impending lock-out in tho Blackburn and Burnley weaving districts, three hundred thousand workers will be thrown idle. Mr. Crimon, president of tho Amalgamated Cardroom Associations, declared that if tho masters of the South-East Lancashire mills interfered they must reckon with tho operatives at Oldham and other centres before the mills would be allowed to resume. Ho mentioned a number of old grievances requiring to be remedied. It is reported at Blackburn that Sir George Askwith, Chairman of. the Conciliation Council, has asked for full details ol tho Lancashire dispute.
