(By Teleeranh—Press Association.) Christchurch, December 2C. During December about a dozen business premises in the city were attacked burglariously, the latest attempts being made on Saturday night. To-day two youths of seventeen and eighteen respectively appeared before the court in connection with the burglaries, and were remanded. Napier, December 23. Thero is little fresh to report in regard to the wharf trouble. A conference of employers was held to-day, but thero was nothing done beyond deciding to communicate with other centres. Both sides are firm, and further developments are likely. Auckland, December 20. A Whitianga telegram reports the arrival of the Korora from Gisborne, 26 days out. She had a very rough passage. The steamer Energy, from the Thames for-Wellington, is windbound. The ketch Coronation arrived aftv a very rough trip from Auckland. Captain Millar had his ribs broken, and the mate had his fingers badly crushed. Oyoi- 21,000 people attended tho recent festivities in connection with the openinn; of Auckland's uow Town Hall. Tho Mayor of Auckland stated on Saturday that the City Council would advertise outside New Zealand for a city organist. Already he had had a dozen applications from America and England, so it was evidently already known that Auckland had a new organ and a vacancy fov the post of city- organist.
