The Committee of Management of the Otago Educational Institute has passed tho following motion unanimously: "That the opinion, expressed by Jliss Marchanr, retiring principal of tho Girls' Iligh School, on the standard of primary school training, was grossly exaggerated; that the proficiency test given the Otago inspector' of primary poliools at present is sufficiently high; and Unit neither (itnplovors nor principals of high schools should expect 'experts' to enter either their offices <ir tho high f.chools."
