PROVINCIAL CENTRES. (From Our Special Correspondents.)
• i FEILDING. A very successful performance of "The Creation" was given at the new Lyceum Theatre last evening by the Feilding Choral Society. The principals were: Mr. John l'rouse, of Wellington (baritone), Mr. Sydney Bugler, of Wanganui (tenor), and Madame Emily Brings, of Wancanni (soprano). Mr. H. Temple White was the conductor. At the last meeting of the Borough Council the Mayor (Mr. Goodbehere) made reference to the death of Mr. G. C. Hill, who was for many years town clerk hero. A vote of condolence was passed. Owing to the cold weather the municipal baths are not bringing in any revenue, and the council is losing revenue on them. Mr. Fr«d Firani, chairman of the WaHErnnui Education Board, presented the prizes at tho two Feilding schools yesterday morning, and at the two country schools yesterday afternoon. OTAKI. Mr. J. Robertson, who topped the poll at tho second ballot for the Otaki sent, has received numerous congratulatory telegrams, including messages from the staff of several dairy factories in Taranaki, and one from Mr. W. F. MaSscy, tlio Leader of the Reform party.
