Richardson ana Co.'s steamer Toroa when .she woa employed on the East Coast between Napier and Wellington, and also in the Lyt-telton-Chatham Islands service. Word has reached Wellington that the Toroa (which noiv belong to Messrc. Tlolyrnan and Sons, .I'nsroania) has been chartered to convey stores to Maequarie Island for the Mawson expedition, as it has been found tnat the Auroa will not be able to convoy all the freight necessary. She will proceed to Hobort from Launceston about the end of the month. The Toroa is a steel vesivcl of 388 tons qross, built in 1099. She is at present ensased in the West Coast and North--1 west Coast trade. SOUTH SEA ISLAND SERVICES, The Union Company' 3 island steamer Ka~ vua is to leave Wellington for Westporfc today.
