SHEEP EXHIBITS IN THE NATURAL.
Tho South Australian Royal Agricultural Socicty has adopted regulations --for tho exhibition oi' morino sheep at future shows in Adelaide, which preclude sheep kept uildcr any artificial conditions being shown. That no merino shall be eligible for competition which has at any time: 1. I3cen housed or artificially fed in any way 'except for "a period of four days immediately preceding tho date of exhibition'. ■ 2. Been depastured on land sown with lucerne. ■ ' li. lieen rugged or kept in any paddock with open sheds accessible to sheep. i. Beoii' oiled or dressed with' any foreign matter, ordinary dipping for parasites excepted. .5. Been gone over'.with .the shears orother instruments except for crutching or .dags. (i. Been kept as a pet. 7. Not bren fairly' shorn',, i.e., ho -wool to be left more than one-third of an inch in length. 8. Has not complied with any regulations to bs made by tho society-for inspection after shearing. No morino sheep-shall ho eligible'for competition which has during the period of one year (immediately preceding tile date of exhibition). been depastured on lands which havo, within two years immediately preceding the date of exhibition, lieeii cultivated and sown with eorcals or fodder plants.
