N.Z. RUGBY UNION.

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of tho Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union was held last evening, Mr. N. Galbraith presiding. There were also present: Messrs. Kelly, Walburton, Cronlbie, and Dr. M*Evody. ■ A letter was received from Mr. U Wray Palliser, the union's representative in London, reporting on a meeting of the Laws Committee of tho English Union, and giving a ruling with regard to "tacklo" and "held" appearing in the Book of Rules. Tho following was issued for tho information of players and referees: —A tacklo was quoted as follows :—"When tho holder of the ball is held b.v one or more players of the opposite side so that ho cannot pass or play it." The explanation given of the above is—"ln other words, if a player_ is grasped by an opponent and falls with the ball on the ground, unless he cannot pass or play the ho is not tackled and can proceed."
