TENNESSEE MINE DISASTER.
ONE HUNDRED BELIEVED TO BE DEAD. Br Telctrraph-Prcss Aisscitntion-CosrMral New York, December 12. News comes from Briceville, Tennessee, that five of the men entombed in the main mine of tho Cross Mountain system, Kuoxville, through an explosion, have been rescued alive.
Twenty-two bodies- have been recovered.
Numerous cross galleries have not yet been entered by tho relief parties. It is believed that 100 of tho entombed men are dead. : .'.
A rescue cor with gangs aboard ha« arrived from Pittsburg, and an effort will bo mado to cuter (ho niino from every direction.
