1 THE SOUTH AFRICAN PROPOSAL. Bj Tolcerapli—Prcse Association—CopTri-jht Melbourne, December 9. The Federal Prime Minister, Mr. Fisher, confirms the statement that the South African Union Government has proposed the establishment of a lino of steamers between South Africa and Australia, to bo jointly owned by the CominoEwcnlth and South Africa. Mr. Fisher added that tlio matter had not reached any stage of development.
