DANNEVIRKE SHOW.

PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE. The preliminary schedule of classes for the third annual show of the Dannevirko A. and P. Association, which is to be held on February 14, is to hand. In addition to the cattle, sheep, 'pig, and horse classes, a champion butter-fat. competition is to bo -held, entries for this competition closing on Uecembei 27. The show entries close on January 31. Tho annual ram fair will be held the day after tho show proper. APPLE LAND. The Bronle Estate, Nelson, is receiving a good deal of attention' by orcbardists and those interested in fruit culture at the present time. . Messrs. Miller and Butter, agents, Wellington, have a Bpecial advertisement in this issue relating :o the above estate, which is subdivided into blocks of 12 acres and upwards, and i 3 being offered at prices ranging from JCB per acre. Tho firm will be pleased to. furnish those interested with plans and booklets descriptive of the'estate. . Messrs. Thomson and Co.'s thoroughbred mare Baron's Brilliant has been champion wherever she has bosn exhibited this year, and there was nothing on the ground yesterday to boat her (6ays the "Otago Times" commenting on tno horse classes at the'Otago A. and P. show). She is a really magnificent typo of a Clydesdale brood mare, and wonld be hard to beat anywhere. It was a calamity that Mr. E. Short's representative, Miss Ivanhoe (sire Ivanhoe, dam Flower of Okaiawa), from tho Peilding district, failed to appear in the ring, tho reason being that she had come by an accident to her foot. Her absence detracted very considerably from the interest in tho class.
