The ..Melbourne steamer brought principally apples and cherries, the latter arriving in bad order. Tasmanian Sturmer apples commanded 9s. to 10s. Gd. per case. A few plums camo to hand i'rom Motueka during the week, and mado 4s. Gd. to os. per half-case. Gooseberries brought 3s. 6(1. to is. per case, Hiitt-grown samples bringing 2d. per lb. Tomatoes from tho Hutt sold at 3d. to lOd. per lb., and from Nelson at 7Jd. to Sd. per lb. Hothouse cucumbers were quitted at 4s. to lis. per dozen; asparagus 9d.. to Is. 2d. per bundle. Vegetables generally were in fair supply, prices eingCabbages (choice), 7s.
