The Railway and Tramwaymen's Association pressed their claims for eight shillings and eight hours per day. Mr. M'Gowen, Premier, in reply, said he favoured placing the men on the same standard of wages as outsiders, and anticipated that they would benefit by tho Eight Hours Bill he was introducing next session.
