OTAKI NOTES.

The Horticultural Show, held on Thursday, proved even more successful than was anticipated. Although many exhibits had been spoiled by the unseasonable weather, tho display was a fine one. The cut bloom class was tho most pleasing and, in this, Mr. Frank Penn secured tho large majority of prizes. Tho decorative class was also good and, as in other classes the priws were well distributed. The vegetable class was the weakest feature of the show, but thoso staged were of good quality, Mr. W. W. "Wcstnwny securing most prizes. Tho same winner al«o had an excellent array of sweet pens. The table decorations were splendid, and Miss Penn secured first in both sections, both by judge's verdict and the popular vote.
