FEATHERSTON ITEMS.

At'the first. meetins of the newly-elect-Dtl County Council, hold on Wednesday, Mr. A. I). M'Leod was re-elected chairman, and Mr. John Martin treasurer. Two tenders were received for the construction of the Moroa water-race extension, but neither was accepted, and it was decidcd to refer the matter to ths Water-race Committee. Mr. John Barton, of Trentham, wrote asking if the council would allow motorists interested to erect a platform bridge across Abbott's Creek on the Rimutaka Road. Permission was granted.
