Lord Londonderry-reminded tho members that the rulo relating to four-furlong racing for two-year-olds had now been in forco over seven years. Ho had always been against fourrfurlonp; racing himself, and ho had reason to think that theso short races had not been altogether successful, and wero becoming unpopular, and ho asked tho stewards if they would ascertain what was the general feeling on tho question. _ Lord Derby said the stewards were quite prepared to do this, and if necessary would make some suggestions nest year for an alteration of tho rule.
