Regarding his southern tour, he assured them that tho Government would not only hold its own there, but would win somo nioro seats from tho Opposition. Eefcrring to Mr. Massev's }Vinton meeting, ho said that hundreds had been brought in from outsido tho electorate, so as to make a demonstration to wire out, and thus convey tho impression to the Dominion that he (Sir Joseph Ward) was losing ground in Awarua.; He had just received a telegram Mating that Mr.- Massoy's Winton meeting had dono him (the speaker) more good than harm. '.He condemned certain flonthern Press Association agents in connection with the Winton and other meetings, for discounting his meetings, and trying to unduly lift the Opposition Leader's meetings, even going to tho. length of omitting sending some demonstrations to himself out, while everything was sent regarding tho Opposition, further cheers were given as tho train moved on.
